GENERAL DESCRIPTION

At the center of GMS’s X7 Nano-Stack Cross Domain system are the two X7 “RAPTOR” mission computer modules—one for the Red domain and one for the Black domain, each equipped with an Intel Xeon® W (8 cores) processor. X7 is based on the high TRL X9 SPIDER family, which is the ultimate in high-density, highest performance, smallest SWaP-C small form factor (SFF) processing. Each X7 mission processor is a value-priced, fully featured, high performance sub-system capable of data processing, storage, and sensor interface—in addition to the high-speed networking ports needed for the CDS functionality.

Intended for low-price applications, Cross Domain data access is controlled by a General Dynamics® TACLANE® (KG-175N) HAIPE® Type 1 encryptor that is NSA certified and uses the latest in crypto technology to provide high assurance protection of voice, video, and classified data. The Cross Domain System is architected for TEMPEST certification, JREAP-C, OMS architecture, Edge Connect networks, and zero trust / Secure Entry Point (SEP) cyber requirements. Cisco® CSR1000v router software can be added for additional functionality.

High-speed I/O into and out of the Cross Domain system is via a GigE port per domain mission processor, plus GigE connections to/from the encryptor. Each mission processor does more than just conduct traffic flow. Each 8-core computer can apply rules-based bi-simplex data diode traffic movement across the encryptor, as well as pre- and post-data processing. In effect, the cross domain can represent the entire processing element of a full-featured system plus having the ability to provide security, cross domain data, and sensor/data processing all in a single box. Each mission processor can also facilitate code for National Cross Domain Strategy & Management Office’s (NCDSMO) Raise the Bar (RTB) requirements.

Each X7 RAPTOR mission computer employs GMS’s patented RuggedCool® cooling technology for long life in extended temperature environments. Designed for conduction cooling supplemented with the on-board TwoCool™ cooler, each domain’s module is mounted atop a lightweight integral “cold plate” cooling assembly that also houses the encryptor. Heat from each mission processor conducts to the cooler. GMS TwoCool™ fan technology then ejects the heat from the cooler, keeping both domains and the encryptor within spec over a wide temperature range. In normal operation, the Nano-Stack™ can dissipate up to 250 W (max.), Flexible mounting options are available for all bolt-on applications.
