GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The X9 SPIDER Server Computer is a breakthrough in technology and contains many industry firsts in hardware, mechanical, interconnect and thermal innovations. With over 26 patents pending, it’s ultra-small, high performance, space optimized CPU board, I/O bandwidth (455Gbps) and it’s unique stackable mechanical design, X9 modules can be configured into any system imaginable.

Featuring the world’s first rugged (IP67) 40 Gbps connectors which provide 100W of power up to 50 meters, the X9’s power delivery, management and density is unmatched in today’s market. Its unique design utilizes patented RuggedCool™ technology to provide four-sided cooling for balanced heat transfer and low thermal gradient for full operation at up to +85°C.

The CPU is the Intel® Xeon® D processor features 20 cores operating @ 3.1GHz in Turbo mode or 2.0GHz in nominal mode with 30MB of Smart Cache and up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM via two SODIMMs with ECC operating at 3200MT/s. The graphics engine and two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports provide up to four 8K video streams. The Thunderbolt™ 4 ports are capable of daisy chain and provide 100W of DC power up to 50m. It provides 32 PCIe Gen4 lanes and 16 PCIe Gen3 lanes. The X9 Host takes full advantage of this bandwidth via Rugged Mezzanine Carriers (RMC) and High Speed I/O devices.

The Xeon® D has two 100GigE which utilize Intel Hardware DMA (RDMA/RoCE v2), allowing network data to be transferred to/from memory without CPU utilization and 24 PCIe Gen4 lanes which are also under DMA control. When interfaced with M.2 storage devices, it provides full featured RAID (VROC) controllers with DMA support for unmatched storage performance.

The GPU is NVIDIA’s flagship GPU RTX-A4500 MXM module. The A4500 occupies the RMC-100 site and provides 5888 CUDA® cores, 184 Tensor cores and 40 RT cores. The CUDA® cores support 17.66TFLOPS FP-32 performance, Tensor cores support an incredible 189.2TFLOPS and RT cores at 46.2TFLOPS. The RTX-A4500 supports 16GB of GDDR-6 organized by 256-bit and operates at 1.3GHz for 512GB/s transfer rates.

The CPU is directly connected to the GPU via 8 lanes of PCIe Gen4 for a 128GB/sec transfer rate. This kind of performance and network functionality is only found in full, 1U/2U Rack-mount servers. It provides up to four 100GigE ports via quad optical transceivers. The transceivers are extremely small, rugged connectors unlike the QSF connectors used in the industry.

Perhaps the greatest advantage of the X9 connectivity feature is the two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports. Each port provides 40 Gbps of I/O to displays, network and peripherals which can be unlimitedly daisy chained while providing 100W to power to peripherals such as Displays, Disk Drives and I/O up to 50 meters away. These amazing features of open architecture have never been possible before in such a small, lightweight system.
