WORKSTATION CLASS SYSTEMS are designed to meet more demanding applications where powerful multi-core processors with up to 64 GB of RAM, vast standard and custom high-speed I/O, and a high degree of modularity are required from a system designed for maximum power dissipation of 75 watts or less (typically much less). These systems offer standard I/O interfaces such as PMC/XMC and PCIe Mini-based Special Application Modules (SAM™) for highest efficiency I/O, as well as high-speed I/O such as 1 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet, SATA 3 at 6 Gigabits/sec, USB 3.0, DisplayPort/eDP, Thunderbolt® and much more. The WORKSTATION series also provides the widest selection of storage configurations, from fully sealed removable nDrive™ or 2.5-inch SATA and NVMe drives, embedded M.2 or mSATA for on-board storage, or a removable canister with up to 32 TB! The latest GMS WORKSTATION-class systems have superior graphics processing, either using the embedded Intel Graphics Processor (IGP) or supplemental GPUs from either Nvidia® or AMD®. This series contains the widest product offering with a huge number of variant configurations, and can provide solutions for applications that require functionality beyond the typical embedded computer, such as multi-channel HD-DVR, FPGA integration, high-end graphics processing, SMPTE video input via HD-SDI, and secure virtualization, among many others. These WORKSTATION engines are also available in our LCD SmartView™ panel PC display series for applications that require powerful smart displays with modularity and extensive functionality. WORKSTATION systems are ideal for embedded computing applications with moderate-to-high CPU needs but constrained by limited cooling options. These systems are designed for P3I/Technology Refresh long-term defense and industrial programs which require extended roadmaps for technology upgrades. WORKSTATION systems are based on a foundation of nearly 20 years of development and production of small, rugged computing systems. Based upon Intel® embedded roadmap CPUs, the current Kaby Lake systems have an Intel-backed longevity of up to 15 years, out to 2033.
